Kisa Shrine (岐佐神社) in Bentenjima, Hamamatsu City!

If you happen to walk along the Old Tokaido Road between Bentenjima and Maisaka in Hamamatsu City you will eventually discover a fairly large Shinto Shrine on your righ hand side: Kisa Shrine/岐佐神社!

It is fairly ancient and has been rebuilt many a time as demonstrated by this goblin pinion which has been preciously preserved after one reconstruction!

You realize it is still very much venerated when you find that the roofed stone hand-washing basin has still a placard demonstrating the proper way to cleanse yourself!

Complete with a dragon water spout!

As on many other ancient sites you will notice many a small shrine!
